About Us
MEDIC Regional Blood Center was established in 1958 and is the primary provider of blood and blood-related products for 25 hospitals in 23 counties.
MEDIC has four donor centers and hosts up to 8 community blood drives each day.
MEDIC collects whole blood, plasma and platelets for transfusion for patients in our region.
The blood on the shelves is what is used in an emergency. It takes roughly 3 days for blood to be tested, processed and ready for distribution so it is imperative that MEDIC have a continual donor flow each day to stock the shelves.
