As the official museum of science and energy of the United States, we build upon the impressive history of scientific advances in Oak Ridge to show the vital importance of science and engineering in our past, present and future, and to contribute to a deeper understanding of the STEAM disciplines.
The K-25 History Center, sister museum to the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE), offers a variety of interactive exhibits and activities for all ages! The K-25 History Center shares the important and impactful history and science from The Manhattan Project as well as the roles of the K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant site and the Centrifuge during World War II and the Cold War.
The museums accomplishes our mission through exhibits, educational initiatives, public programs, a vibrant alliance with the United States Department of Energy, and other important partnerships around the world.
