Knoxville Center of the Deaf

Our Mission

The mission of the Knoxville Center of the Deaf is to promote access, communication, and independence for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and late-deafened individuals by providing quality interpreting services, community programs, and advocacy that support full participation in society.

About Us

The Knoxville Center of the Deaf is a community-based interpreting and service agency dedicated to increasing access, inclusion, and advocacy for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and late-deafened individuals throughout East Tennessee. We provide professional sign language interpreting services that bridge communication gaps in healthcare, education, employment, and community settings. In addition to interpreting, we offer a variety of programs that support individuals across the lifespan, including youth development, senior services, and specialized support for DeafBlind individuals. We actively advocate for equal access, communication rights, and greater awareness to ensure the Deaf community is fully represented and included. Through strong community partnerships and volunteer involvement, we work to empower individuals and build a more inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
