Volunteer: Maintenance Helper

Have skills in general maintenance? Anything from painting to hanging curtains to the occasional leak under the sink! The Restoration House has a 24 unit apartment complex where families live for 2-3 years as they work towards a better future for themselves. READY TO GO DEEPER IN RELATIONSHIP WITH MOTHER-LED FAMILIES?


 

Join a team of 5-7 allies from local churches ranging in age and life experience helping to cultivate a diverse and mutually supportive community! Ally Teams are a key component of The Restoration House program which focuses on relational and spiritual support as well as social capital.

 

The qualifications are as follows:

Follower of Christ and an active member of a local congregation Willingness to learn alongside the participating family Patience and persistence for the inevitable “ups and downs” of the journey Committed to journey with the a TRH family for up to 2 years, and beyond Eagerness to provide relational and spiritual support as well as social capital Excited to celebrate each ‘small’ step, recognizing it’s the small steps that make up the journey

 

Time commitment:

Weekly contact with assigned participating family (phone call, email, text, card etc) Monthly social activity with participating family (such as watching a movie, going to the park, grabbing a cup of coffee together or other things friends do together) Attend bi-annual Family Nights sponsored by The Restoration House and designed to strengthen Ally relationships
