Volunteer: Beaumont Magnet Academy Food Bag Pick Up

Beaumont Magnet Academy partners with Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church and Second Harvest to provide weekly food bags for students facing food instability at home.  These food bags provide snacks and easy to make meals for students over the weekend when students do not have access to the free breakfast and free lunch provided by the school.  Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church graciously packs the food bags for BMA every week easing the burden on school staff.  We are looking for volunteers to pick up the food bags from the church and transport them to the school on Thursdays so bags can be distributed and go home with students on Friday.

Volunteers will pick up food bags for Beaumont Magnet Academy's Back Pack Buddy program from Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church (510 E Oklahoma Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917) and deliver to Beaumont Magnet Academy at 1211 Beaumont Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921.

When you arrive at Glen Oak Missionary Baptist Church, ring the bell by the door and a church volunteer will bring out the bags and help you move bags into your vehicle.  Once at Beaumont Magnet Academy, pull up to Door 4 (the door with the ramp), and reach out to Katie Cooper, Community Schools Site Coordinator at 757-749-8176 and she will meet you outside with a cart to bring bags into the school.  If she is unavailable, you can come to the main office and staff will assist you.

Your support is appreciated and helps us ensure that our students are fed over the weekend!  Thank you for your support!
