Needs From: Volunteer East Tennessee

Ujima is a soccer centric after-school program that operates from 3:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday at Vine Middle School. The time is split between on field training and holistic enrichment in the Ujima Clubhouse. Enrichment activities include positive psychology with the University of Tennessee, leadership development, Footy Lab with DataRook, and cognitive development with Learning Rx. 

Volunteers are needed each day to build relationships, assist in training, and supervise play time. (We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of once a week.) Volunteers must agree to a personal interview and a background check. 

Ujima is building relationships and introducing the game of soccer to 5th graders at Sarah Moore Greene each Friday. Recess runs from 12:15 - 12:35 unless it is raining. Training focuses on our core values of teamwork, respect, discipline and leadership, and a structured play time that gets everyone involved. Students go directly from recess to their lunch time where Ujima coaches are welcome to hang out and talk until 1:05 pm.  Volunteers must submit to a personal interview and a background check.

Ujima is building relationships and introducing the game of soccer to 5th graders at Spring Hill Elementary each Friday. Recess runs from 1:20 to 2:00 pm unless it is raining. Training focuses on our core values of teamwork, respect, discipline and leadership, and a structured play time that gets everyone involved.  Volunteers must submit to a personal interview and a background check.

Ujima is building relationships and introducing the game of soccer to 4th and 5th graders at Green Magnet Academy each Friday morning. Recess runs from 9:15 to 10:10 unless it is raining. Training focuses on our core values of teamwork, respect, discipline and leadership, and a structured play time that gets everyone involved. Volunteers must submit to a personal interview and a background check.
