Do you love helping senior citizens and people with disabilities? Are you age 26 or up? Then Douglas-Cherokee Community Connect has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!
Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority, Inc.'s Community Connect Program is seeking volunteers to help transport seniors and people with disabilities in Hamblen, Jefferson, Grainger, Sevier, and Cocke Counties to non-emergency medical appointments, the grocery store, and other places they need to go in the community. We provide training, as well as mileage reimbursement in the amount of $0.30/mile round trip to help cover the cost of gas. We also provide excess liability coverage for volunteers, as well as masks and hand sanitizer for volunteers to keep in their vehicles.
