Volunteers are needed to give out race packets the day before the event. We will hand out packets at World's Fair Park.
As a volunteer for the Knox Shamrock Fest™ and Lucky Kidney Run™, you are required to attend one brief virtual training session. During training, we will review expectations, specific job duties, parking, and answer any questions you may have. Training is being offered twice on March 9th at 11:00am and 7:00pm. Why Lucky “Kidney” Run?
Did you know that 1 in 7 Americans has kidney disease? That’s 30 million people! However, 96% of those with early kidney disease (stages 1 and 2) don’t even know they have CKD. And of those with severely reduced kidney function, (stage 4) but not on dialysis, 48%, are not aware of having the disease. That’s why we at the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation host the annual Lucky Kidney Run and Knox Shamrock Fest, to bring awareness of this “silent” disease and educate the community about its risk factors, symptoms, and prevention.
