The 13th annual Ijams Hummingbird Festival: A Celebration of Wings will be held on the Ijams Homesite Lawn (next to the Miller Building) on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. This event gives attendees the opportunity to learn about and see a hummingbird up close during a banding session led by Master Bander Mark Armstrong as well as enjoy hands-on educational activities for all ages, guided Bird Nerd Walks, live animal ambassadors, and nonprofit organization and sponsor booths.
All volunteers should head to the information table at the roundabout near the main entrance of Ijams when you arrive to be checked in and given specific directions to your area.
Volunteers should park at the Hunter House/Overflow parking lot directly across the street from the Ijams main entrance.
Opportunities
We need lots of volunteers to help with admissions, parking, pre-event setup, children’s activities, guided hikes, and more! You’ll find all available shifts and position descriptions on the festival’s GivePulse page.
Very important - You cannot register for these volunteer positions through Volunteer East TN. Please go to our GivePulse page where you can view all of the different volunteer positions needed and what shifts are available. You can sign up for more than one shift so long as the times do not overlap.
