Our Make Space area inspires visitors to Make it DO, Make it NEW, Make an IMPACT and Make it YOU.
Our Make Space volunteers organize and assist in the facilitation of fun programming with these themes in mind for a tools-based, creative makerspace while ensuring the safety of both our guests and the exhibit area. They have the confidence to regulate the activity within the space in regards to both visitors and materials. This position is perfect for an art student or someone who just loves to get creative!
While volunteering, you will:
- Facilitate hands-on arts and crafts projects with visitors by working with, and teaching, children of various social, educational, and economic backgrounds and levels.
- Help us set up area before opening, keep area organized throughout the shift, and help clean up the area after the shift.
- Interact positively and spontaneously with all guests through the power of hands-on play while ensuring the safety of guests and employees.
COVID19 PROTOCOLS
Upon Entry: Temperature and screening checks will be conducted before entering the building or starting your volunteer opportunity. Frequent handwashing, access to hand sanitizer, and maintaining social distancing of 6 ft. or greater where possible are some of the basic practices that we encourage.
Cloth face coverings will be required.
Our Building: Cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing measures are in place including the following:
● Regular sanitizing of all primary touchpoints
● HEPA air filtration system
● Ionopure Sanitizing Cool Mist Cleaners throughout the indoor spaces
● Updated bathroom facilities including touchless fixtures
