Our Make Space area inspires visitors to Make it DO, Make it NEW, Make an IMPACT and Make it YOU.
Our Make Space volunteers organize and assist in the facilitation of fun programming with these themes in mind for a tools-based, creative makerspace while ensuring the safety of both our guests and the exhibit area. They have the confidence to regulate the activity within the space in regards to both visitors and materials. This position is perfect for an art student or someone who just loves to get creative!
While volunteering, you will:
- Facilitate hands-on arts and crafts projects with visitors by working with, and teaching, children of various social, educational, and economic backgrounds and levels.
- Help us set up area before opening, keep area organized throughout the shift, and help clean up the area after the shift.
- Interact positively and spontaneously with all guests through the power of hands-on play while ensuring the safety of guests and employees.
This is a family friendly facility. We do ask that you wear appropriate attire when volunteering in the building.
Our dress code is t-shirt or sweater / pants or shorts and closed toed shoes, you will also be given a volunteer apron upon arrival to wear during your shift. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your shift so that we may sign you in and give you a tour before you start. We look forward to having you be part of our team for the day!
