Are you a TN Promise student looking to get volunteer hours? Not a TN Promise student but still want to help out the park staff and get your hands dirty? Seven Islands State Birding Park is looking for volunteers to help with weeding the Wild Yards Garden, invasive plant species removal, and litter pickup. This volunteer event will take place from 9:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, June 24. All volunteers should plan on meeting Ranger Stephanie at the main parking lot off of Kelly Lane by 9:00am. Tools will be provided for volunteers to use depending on which volunteer activity they would like to do. Instructions will be provided too for all volunteers to make sure the tasks chosen are clear and understood.
Volunteers should plan on bringing water with them, but some bottled water will be available. Volunteers are encouraged to wear proper footwear and clothing. If volunteers have their own gloves or tools that they would like to use for their chosen task they are welcome to bring them.
If you have any questions regarding this volunteer opportunity please contact Ranger Stephanie Mueller at 865-333-8270 or stephanie.mueller@tn.gov.
