Join park staff for a 2.0-mile paddle along the French Broad River to remove litter in the river and along the shorelines by kayak/canoe/paddle board. The group will take out at the bridge near the island and park staff will transport boats/boards back to the boat launch as Ranger Stephanie guides volunteers back to the boat launch along the trails. Volunteers are more than welcome to continue past the bridge and paddle down to the next public boat launch at Cruze Landing, but you will need to arrange your own shuttle if you choose to do this. Volunteers will need to provide their own boats and PFDs. Garbage bags and latex gloves will be available for volunteers to use to collect the garbage from the river/shorelines. Participants should bring sunscreen and drinking water with them. Please plan on meeting Ranger Stephanie at the boat launch on Kelly Lane by 10:00 AM.
