Help Feed Hope in Your Community!
The Salvation Army is seeking dedicated volunteers to join a small leadership team helping manage our Emergency Assistance Food Pantry. This pantry provides essential food support to individuals and families in need who have been prequalified for assistance.
About the Role:
As part of the Food Pantry Management Team, you’ll help ensure our pantry operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and maintaining pantry stock — tracking inventory, checking expiration dates, and helping place food orders as needed.
- Scheduling and supporting volunteers — organizing the volunteer schedule and providing guidance to those assisting during pantry hours (recruitment handled by The Salvation Army).
- Coordinating pantry operations — greeting clients alongside volunteers and ensuring a welcoming, organized environment.
- Supporting community food drives — optionally helping organize or assist with food drives to bolster pantry stock and promote community engagement.
Our goal is to open the pantry once or twice each week, offering consistent access to food support for our neighbors. While this is a leadership role, you do not need to be present every time the pantry is open—we’ll work together as a team to share responsibilities and schedules.
Ideal Volunteer:
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organized and dependable
- Comfortable leading small groups of volunteers
- Compassionate and respectful toward all people
- Able to commit a few hours per week (schedule is flexible)
