As a Lab Manager, you (along with a second adult) are expected to lead the STEM Scout meetings each week. Below you will find the items that represent this role:
- Must be 21 years of age or older or 18+ and partnered with someone 21+.
- Be at each meeting- if you are unable to meet, then you are responsible in finding your replacement for the week. You may want to go through your Scouts parents as possible volunteers first. Lab programs will last for 22 weeks through the school year and occur on the same day and time each week.
- Must be current on your Youth Protection Training (YPT) - If you are unable to make it to the meeting that week, at least one adult present needs to be current with their YPT.
- Lab Managers should be prepared for your meeting by picking up the module kits (generally shipped directly to the school or Lab locations) and have read over the Leaders Guide for that particular Lab.
- If interested, join the District Executive at your schools Sign Up Night to welcome new members. Sign Up Nights only happen one night a year.
- Make sure their parent picks each Scout up after meeting has ended. You, along with the Associate Lab Manager or at least one other adult, must stay until each Scout has been picked up.
- Make sure Lab area is clean (“cleaner than you found it”) before leaving. You may want to get in the habit of making sure the Lab is clean while the Scouts are there to help. Remember, “A Scout is Clean.”
