Volunteer Needs
Volunteers are needed to assist with tasks such as guest check-in (at the East Tennessee History Center), greeting and directing guests at each building, and monitoring guests within each home on the tour. Volunteer location will vary throughout downtown Knoxville depending on your post. Snacks, beverages, and a light lunch will be available at the East Tennessee History Center throughout the day.
Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt, lanyard, and special instructions prior to their shift. The lanyard gives you admission to the Downtown Home Tour while not on your shift. T-shirts will be the same as 2023. If you have one from the previous year, please reuse if possible.
What to Wear
Wear the t-shirt and lanyard given to you by our team and comfortable walking shoes. Please be prepared for any weather condition. You may be standing outside. Bring at hat, sunscreen, umbrella, or any other items you may need for the weather conditions that day. Some volunteer posts offer minimal coverage.
If you have any questions about the Downtown Home Tour or this volunteer opportunity, please email Kelley at kelleyws@easttnhistory.org.
