Beaumont Magnet Academy is looking for bilingual (Spanish and English) volunteers to support our families who speak Spanish at all of our evening family engagement events!  These volunteers will help families navigate the event, communicate with teachers and staff as needed, and help us ensure families feel welcome and included!

The Vine Volunteer Collective is looking for Spanish and Swahili-speaking volunteers to support Family Engagement events at Vine Middle School throughout the school year. We are building a network of volunteers who can be called upon to assist with language support as needed—there’s no expectation to be at every event, just those you have capacity for! Your help will play a vital role in strengthening connections and improving communication with our multilingual families during after-school events. The 2026 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour is headed back to the Tennessee River March 12-15! The prestigious championship bass tournament — widely known as the “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing” — will be held in downtown Knoxville.

Volunteers are needed to record attendance. Did you know? Knoxville currently holds the record for the 1st and 3rd most-attended Bassmaster Classic tournaments. Let's find out if we'll beat our own record in 2026! Volunteers must have a keen eye and attention to detail in order to accurately account for all attendees. Volunteers will receive a counter clicker. These numbers will be used for the Official attendance record, so accuracy is pertinent. 

Shifts will take place at either the Knoxville Convention Center or the World's Fair Exhibition Hall (these venues are across the street from each other). More information about parking will be provided.

Join us this year for the 14th annual Mud Run on the day before Mother’s Day, May 9th, 2026!

This event includes over twenty different obstacles, rolling trails on a marked course, and even a dip in the lake!  From Adversity Hill to the Tire Traverse and the A-Frame Climb, runners 8+ years old can sign up to race independently or with a team. Costumes are encouraged and the most creative could even win an award! Vendors, music, and refreshments will be onsite for participants and their fans, friends, and families to enjoy along with the beautiful views. In addition to our 5K course, we will also host our second annual Fun Run for anyone 4+ years old! This Fun Run will take place right after the 5K, will be a bit over a mile long, and will include several of our obstacles! How fun!

The money raised from the event will support Harmony’s therapeutic programming at Camp Montvale which includes our equine therapy program and therapeutic camps for foster and adoptive children and families. 

Join KSB and our partners at Ocean Connections for a river cleanup along the Pigeon Forge Greenway. Litter is mobile and can often end up in our local waterways causing pollution and harm to wildlife. If not removed, it can cause lasting damage and may even continue to float downstream until ultimately ending up in the ocean. Let's halt the flow!

The Knoxville Women’s Rugby Club is looking for a friendly face to help run the door for our Drag Bingo Night at Hi-Wire Brewing (Knoxville, TN) on Saturday, March 7th, from 8:00–10:30 PM. You’ll greet guests, scan tickets, and help folks buy tickets at the door. It’s an easy, social gig — perfect for someone friendly and organized who enjoys inclusive community events!

Douglas Lake is a popular place for recreational activities. Unfortunately, heavy use can lead to negative impacts. Join us as we spruce up Dike (Saddle Dam) 10 at the end of Allensville Rd by removing litter and graffiti!

Join Keep Sevier Beautiful and Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a campground cleanup at Elkmont! Tasks will include leaf-blowing, picking up litter, stick and debris removal, replacing signposts, and other maintenance. Let's work together to keep our park clean for the enjoyment of all!

Our volunteers work out of our Maryville warehouse in the Product Recovery area or our Repack Clean Room where we process donated and bulk food for distribution, to help feed our East Tennessee neighbors.

Volunteers also help in non-food project support roles such as cleaning, letter stuffing, and miscellaneous admin duties. 

No experience necessary! Training will be provided on-site at the beginning of the shift.

*Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age, and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
** Please note, for groups that have minors ages 10-15 among the participants, we require a 1:5 chaperone to minor ratio. Please ensure that your group size matches this ratio with adult chaperones (18+) and minors.

MEDIC Regional Blood Center is currently seeking volunteers to assist in scheduling appointments with whole blood donors. Volunteers will use MEDIC office phones and will be asked to make several calls per shift. 

All volunteers must undergo a criminal background check, no exceptions. MEDIC staff will send the background check link to your email address within 48 hours of your registration to volunteer. 

Volunteers will also need to sign waivers during their first shift. Volunteers will be given a volunteer ID badge to wear while they work at the center. 

Schedulers will work at our Ailor Center at 1601 Ailor Avenue. Volunteers must adhere to MEDIC policies, including those for smoke-free and fragrance-free environments. 

Volunteers will be given a script and a call list using our donor platform. 

Volunteers who do not show up for their registered volunteer slot without notice forfeit all remaining slots the volunteer has signed up for. If a volunteer is unable to attend their shift for any reason, please email volunteer@medicblood.org. We are a small founder-led organization looking for a fundraising coordinator with experience in fundraising and networking with local individuals, businesses, and organizations. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to take initiative. Experience with grant writing is preferable but not required. Hours are flexible, and the majority of the work may be done remotely.

Clean litter from the road side and the hill below the observation deck.  All materials will be provided, wear sturdy shoes, bring water and dress for the weather.

Participants run either a 5K or 10K run on the hike/bike trails through Sharp's Ridge Veteran Memorial Park.  

Volunteers are needed to help with registration, manage cross street traffic, monitor and pass out water on the trails.  Volunteer time is approximately 7:15-noon.  Some later arrival will depend on the job the volunteer is doing.  

ReLAUNCH is in need of volunteers 18 years of age and older to help us serve the homeless at the  Under the Bridge (the Day Space*). You can check in at the KARM Courtyard is located at 408 N. Broadway, and the Day Space is located under the I-40 overpass.

The 80th South Central Province Council of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is coming to Knoxville April 8-11, and they need volunteers to assist with registration. Volunteers will welcome and check in attendees at the start of the conference at the Marriott Knoxville Downtown on April 9 and 10. Volunteers will receive a Team Knoxville Volunteer t-shirt.

RED PANDA RUN WATER TABLE VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION 

Zoo Knoxville is hosting its first ever 5k run on Saturday, May 30th! The Red Panda Run will start in front of the red pandas at the Zoo and travel through Chilhowee Park, including right past Muse. We need volunteers to manage a water table to fill cups of water, hand water to runners, and encourage them as they stop to hydrate. This volunteer is managed by the Vice President of Operations. Any questions or concerns regarding scheduled shifts, hours verification, etc. will be directed to Shelby Cornell at shelby@themuseknoxville.org.  

SCHEDULE: This volunteer opportunity is around 1.5 hours in length. Shifts are scheduled via Give Pulse, Volunteer East Tennessee, or other volunteer recruitment platform.

Exhibit Floor Support volunteers at Muse Knoxville work alongside our Guest Experience team to help facilitate discovery, exploration and play with our exhibit spaces and programming, while helping to maintain a clean and safe space for all. This volunteer is managed by the Vice President of Operations and the Guest Experience team. Any questions or concerns regarding scheduled shifts, hours verification, etc. will be directed to Shelby Cornell at shelby@themuseknoxville.org.  

SCHEDULE: This volunteer opportunity occurs during Muse’s operating hours. Volunteer shifts are typically 3 hours in length, but can vary from 2-6 hours depending on the volunteer. Shifts are scheduled via Give Pulse, Volunteer East Tennessee, or other volunteer recruitment platform.

WHEN VOLUNTEERING AS EXHIBIT FLOOR & MAKESPACE SUPPORT, YOU WILL … 

Engage with children and families on the exhibit floor by interacting with them in our exhibit spaces

Help maintain museum safety and cleanliness by sanitizing individual toys and surfaces with bleach solution

Clean exhibit surfaces, tables, walls, etc. with Magic Eraser

Pick up toys and exhibit items and return them to their proper place

Be aware of your surroundings and let a staff member know if you see something unsafe, witness an injury, or see a lost child or a parent looking for a lost child

Communicate any items needed on exhibit floor to a staff member (Makespace supplies, Draw Alive copies, etc.)

Answer questions from guests as applicable and/or direct them to the nearest staff member

Facilitate Daily Discovery activity table as directed by staff

Complete other tasks as assigned by staff including but not limited to cutting Draw Alive copies, sharpening pencils for Draw Alive and Makespace, replacing zip ties on Zip Tie Car Wash, cutting out and laminating items for homeschool and camp programming, sanding and painting blocks for Norilla exhibit, and organizing staff kitchen

Complete outdoor tasks as assigned by staff based on availability and need including but not limited to pulling weeds, spreading mulch, leaf blowing, painting, etc. 

In Makespace exhibit area:

Monitor children and ensure the safe use of the hot glue guns

Facilitate creativity and discovery by asking questions, encouraging children, and helping them find supplies

Restock supplies if bins are low or empty

Clean off tables and surfaces

Sweep the floor often and before the end of your shift

Create memorable experiences with children and guests that will have a lasting impact, especially on the child

Foster and encourage creativity and learning in children as they play

CAMP ASSISTANT VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION 

Camp Assistant volunteers at Muse Knoxville work alongside our Education staff to help facilitate a fun, safe, and educational experience for Camp Muse kids. This volunteer is managed by the Vice President of Operations, the Education Manager, and the Director of Education and Exhibits. Any questions or concerns regarding scheduled shifts, hours verification, etc. will be directed to Shelby Cornell at shelby@themuseknoxville.org.  

REQUIREMENTS: After you register for a Camp Muse shift, you will receive an email from Trusted Employees within 72 business hours. You must complete the background check, at no cost to you, prior to one week before your scheduled shift or else you cannot volunteer.

SCHEDULE: This volunteer opportunity occurs before and during Muse’s operating hours. Volunteer shifts are 6-7 hours in length, depending on the specific camp. Shifts are scheduled via Give Pulse, Volunteer East Tennessee, or other volunteer recruitment platform.

WHEN VOLUNTEERING AS A CAMP ASSISTANT, YOU WILL … 

Monitor Camp Muse kids on the exhibit floor and outdoor playground, watching as they play for unsafe behavior and to ensure that they are following expectations

Correct Camp Muse kids accordingly if they are not following directions or expectations

Engage with Camp Muse kids and Education staff during the classroom lessons and activities, helping kids as needed with the activity, passing out materials, prepping activity stations, helping to clean up, and monitoring the behavior of the Camp Muse kids

Assist with lunch time by helping to open any containers, monitoring Camp Muse kids for safe behavior while eating, and assisting with clean up after they are done eating

Assist with bathroom monitoring by escorting Camp Muse kids to the bathroom from the outside play areas, the exhibit floor, or the classroom; waiting outside the doors for the Camp Muse kids and walking them back to the rest of the group

Help pick up toys and reset exhibit spaces after Camp Muse kids are on the exhibit floor

Assist with dismissal by helping to monitor Camp Muse kids as they are waiting to be picked up by their adults

Clean counters, wipe tables, and sweep the classroom floor after the Camp Muse kids dismiss

The Salvation Army is seeking individuals to help serve dinner for residents in our shelters. 

Volunteers serve food from a cafeteria-style serving line and assist with other kitchen duties, as needed.  Kitchen duties can include sweeping, cleaning and disinfecting tables and/or rinsing dishes.  

Once you sign up for a shift, your volunteer shift is confirmed.

If you are volunteering as part of a group, each person in the group must sign up to volunteer separately.

Arrival time, parking, entry, and attire:

Please arrive at our Knoxville Area Command at 409 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN no later than 4:15 pm. You may park anywhere. Enter the main building facing Broadway building through our main entrance (second entrance on the front side of the building between the flag pole and playground). Let the receptionist know you are there to volunteer. You will be directed where to go once you check in at the front desk. 

If you are volunteering on a date when the main office is closed, please walk around the back of the main building to the kitchen entrance which is the last door on the raised patio.

Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Attire should also be appropriate and not include profanity, low-cut tops, or excessively short dresses or shorts.

Mobile Meals delivers to over 1,000 homebound seniors daily Monday – Friday to every zip code in Knox County. Volunteers deliver a hot lunchtime meal that, along with the daily safety check, helps to keep individuals safe and healthy longer in their own home, where they want to be. We need over 100 volunteers deliver meals each weekday. Volunteers are always needed to help with this much needed service.

Deliveries take place 10am - 1pm, Monday-Friday. Volunteers can schedule a route to be assigned on a regular basis, can volunteer seasonally (during holiday times, during any school breaks, etc.);or can give us a list of dates or just reach out when available. We’re so proud to once again host a river cleanup in collaboration with Yamaha Rightwaters and in preparation for the 2026 Bassmaster Classic in Knoxville, Tenn. We hosted a similar cleanup with pro angler and Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful board member Ish Monroe in 2023 and it resulted in more than 7,000 lbs. of trash being removed from Fort Loudoun Lake!

Many caregivers have requested mentors for their West View students and are on waitlists for mentor matches. Having a “buddy” gives a student the opportunity to connect one-on-one with a positive, supportive adult role model.

Buddies come to the school once a week to visit with a student, usually during lunch/recess time. Chat with them during lunch, read a book with them, play a game, or do an activity together.

The Friendship House Peer Support Center (PSC) is a client-run rehabilitation service for adults with mental illness. Three main goals of peer support centers are education, socialization, and support. Dog training classes where volunteers are paired with teens who are currently in residential programs.  No dog training experience needed.  Our class instructor will lead you through skills and you will help your teen practice them with the dogs.  All training is positive reinforcement only.

Bridge Refugee Services, Inc.'s mission is to provide opportunities for refugees to rebuild their lives after suffering persecution so that they may become productive, contributing members of the community. Bridge Refugee Services offers support to over 400 refugee clients in the greater Knox Co. area, and we cannot do this without community support.

Through Second Harvest's Food Rescue Program, we have been able to create partnerships with local ethnic grocery stores and restaurants around Knoxville to combat food insecurity in the refugee community.  We would love to have volunteers help us pick up food donations from these stores and restaurants each week.  We will give you a location or locations to pick up from and you will represent Bridge as you drive to these locations to interact with store employees and pick up these donations.  Then bring these donations back to our office to help us weigh and record the donation.  Vehicles that can haul large donations are preferred, but may not be required.  This volunteer opportunity is a weekly opportunity with some flexibility.

Ujima is a soccer centric after-school program that operates from 3:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday at Vine Middle School. The time is split between on field training and holistic enrichment in the Ujima Clubhouse. Enrichment activities include positive psychology with the University of Tennessee, leadership development, Footy Lab with DataRook, and cognitive development with Learning Rx.

 The Oak Ridge Cedar Barrens will again be the site of exotic invasive plant removal as we conduct our first official Weed Wrangle® of 2026.  Located next to Jefferson Middle School in Oak Ridge, the barrens is a joint project of the City of Oak Ridge, Tennessee Division of Natural Areas, and TCWP. The area is one of just a few cedar barrens in East Tennessee, and provides habitat for three state-listed plants: Torrey's mountain mint, prairie goldenrod, and fewleaf sunflower. It is subject to invasion by bushy lespedeza, leatherleaf viburnum, privet, autumn olive, mimosa, Nepal grass, multiflora rose, and woody plants that threaten the system’s prairie plants. Our efforts help to eliminate invasives and other shade-producing plants that prevent the prairie grasses from getting needed sunlight.

This program was created by the National Alliance for Care at Home and the VA in order to give our nation's Veterans a better end of life experience.  We have opportunities to serve our Veteran patients and Veterans in the community. Through this program we honor our Veterans with certificates of appreciation and lapel pins, companion our Veteran patients, educate our staff, volunteers, and the community on Veteran issues, and participate in community Veteran organizations and events. 

Willow's Friends is a pet program that we created to help take care of patients' pets when they are no longer able to do so, either physically or mentally.  Volunteers will go in and feed, walk, play or clean up after pets or take them to Veterinary or grooming appointments.  We will even aid in the fostering or rehoming of pets either before or after the patient passes.  

This program takes one thing off of our patients' and families' plate during this difficult time. If you love animals and what to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their owners, we want to talk to you.

Imagine that you are dying, you only have a few hours left on this earth, and there is no family or friends with you. Are you scared, and feel like you don't matter? Some of our patients experience this very situation. UT Hospice has a program called Sacred Spaces that provides a loving presence during this sacred time. Sacred Spaces is a vigil program, we provide volunteers in 4 hour shifts around the clock until the patient passes. You are not there to attend to their physicals needs, except that of providing a calming, loving presence.

The East Tennessee Kidney Foundation is looking for volunteers to help at their annual Knox Shamrock Fest + Lucky Kidney Run!

Knox Shamrock Fest is the region's premier family-friendly St. Patrick's Day festival! This fundraiser isn't just a fun time, it brings awareness to individuals suffering from kidney disease, while benefitting patients facing hurdles this disease brings. Volunteers will be needed throughout the festival area.

The Lucky Kidney Run, a part of Knox Shamrock Fest, gives participants the option to run a 6k or walk 1 mile through South Knoxville. Volunteers will be placed throughout the course, including the water station and finish line.

We need your help to keep great books accessible to communities 24/7. Visit Little Free Libraries in your community to distribute books! 

We can suggest where to look for free or inexpensive books, or if you already have some, you can share those too. You can find book-sharing boxes near you using our world map or free mobile app. Volunteers over 18 anywhere in the U.S. where there are Little Free Libraries can register for this opportunity.

Once you sign up, you will get access to tips & resources that you review independently online. Our Little Free Library staff can answer your questions by email. Communities are hungry for books! Help Little Free Library fulfill its mission of book access for everyone by coordinating a local book drive. You can lead a book drive and distributed the collected books to local Little Free Libraries. Little Free Library staff can answer your questions along the way. 

This is a flexible volunteer opportunity. You can coordinate your book drive during the times that work best for you and your community. Volunteers over 18 anywhere in the U.S. where there are Little Free Libraries can register for this opportunity.

Girl Talk is a local non-profit that focuses on mentoring young women in the Knoxville community. Our school and site based program is an elementary group mentoring program that meets for 1 hour a week for 10 weeks.

Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Wine Fest is back and better than ever this year, we could not be more excited! This event will take place on March 14th at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts (556 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738). The Joy of Music School holds Board Meetings from noon to 1pm on the third Wednesday of every other month throughout the calendar year. Our first meeting of 2026 will be on Wednesday, January 21st. We are looking for a volunteer receptionist to answer phones and let visitors in to the school during those six meetings. It is a light duty position. 

The Salvation Army is seeking individuals to help serve dinner for residents in our shelters. 

Volunteers serve food from a cafeteria-style serving line and assist with other kitchen duties, as needed.  Kitchen duties can include sweeping, cleaning and disinfecting tables and/or rinsing dishes.  

Once you sign up for a shift, your volunteer shift is confirmed.

If you are volunteering as part of a group, each person in the group must sign up to volunteer separately.

Arrival time, parking, entry, and attire:

Please arrive at our Knoxville Area Command at 409 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN no later than 11:45 pm. You may park anywhere. Enter the main building facing Broadway building through our main entrance (second entrance on the front side of the building between the flag pole and playground). Let the receptionist know you are there to volunteer. You will be directed where to go once you check in at the front desk. 

If you are volunteering on a date when the main office is closed, please walk around the back of the main building to the kitchen entrance which is the last door on the raised patio.

Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Attire should also be appropriate and not include profanity, low-cut tops, or excessively short dresses or shorts.

We need regular help in the library restocking shelves, organizing shelves, and rescanning books in. We also need assistance with daily dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and book repair. We are looking to organize our new Enginarium and labeling locations (think well organized Garage Tools). We will need assistance decorating bulletin boards and designing logos and promotional items. Something I am also interested in is getting some drone footage of our school, some shots of the school from cool angles, and maybe even highlighting our outdoor learning space!

Nourish Knoxville is looking for volunteers for our Saturday Winter Farmers Market. Volunteers may assist with setting up and breaking down the market information booth, conducting crowd counts, operating our Nourish Kids educational programming, and/or helping process transactions for Market Money (Nourish Knoxville's ATM system) - Double Up Food Bucks (SNAP doubling program) - and SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps).
