Volunteer: VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED, Knox County, TN - Drive a Fellow Neighbor, provide transportation, companionship and help someone stay active!SUMMER HELP NEEDED! Knoxville-Knox County CAC’s (Community Action Committee) Volunteer Assisted Transportation (VAT) program is seeking volunteer drivers to assist seniors and people with disabilities to medical appointments, shopping trips, beauty appointments, and other fun activities! During the summer months our regular scheduled volunteers are not available due to travelling and vacations. We are always seeking volunteers, and this is a time that we will need more volunteers to cover our needs. We are celebrating 16 years of serving the community and what a way to help someone, by getting them to the grocery store to access fresh food and also making sure they get to much needed medical appointments. We even can provide social trips to the senior center or the beauty salon. Volunteers are provided with the following: Professional training Program vehicles are provided as well as the fuel. FREE training to include First Aid & CPR certification and Driver safety class. Flexible Schedules --- choose when you want to volunteer and how often!Volunteers are needed for weekdays, evenings and weekends. Drivers must be 21 years of age and have at least 3 years of driving experience.
