We’re looking for dedicated, hardworking drivers with a focus on safety, a professional attitude, and an enthusiasm for providing the absolute best ride possible for the horses we transport. All applicants should have a clean driving record as well as no DUI charges or failed drug tests.  

Responsible for the transportation of horses to and from Faith N Friends.

Qualifications:

Clean driving record Proficient in Manual and Automatic Transmission Follow all applicable traffic laws. Knowledge of handling horses including loading and unloading. Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position. Inspects truck before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck condition. Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide additional support to the instructor, volunteers, and riders
before, during, and after a lesson.

JOB DUTIES

 Assist with grooming and tacking class equines as directed by the instructor.  Aid the instructor in mounting and dismounting of riders.  Assist in arena set up and clean up.  Be able to perform all duties of a horse leader or side walker when scheduled volunteers are absent. Assist the instructor, as requested, in managing emergency situations. Follow all instructor and staff directions.  Ensures compliance with all Faith N Friends policies. Work as a team with staff and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Capable of performing all tasks assigned.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age with equine experience.  All volunteers must pass a Horse Leading Assessment, and volunteer for at least 40 hours. Mature, dependable, and responsible. Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 30 pounds. Able to walk for more than 1 ½ hours at a time. Able to physically react with agility and swiftness to maximize the safety of the rider and control of the equine.

Through community outreach and education, Faith N Friends strives to bring understanding and comfort to people of all ages and from all walks as they interact with and learn about horses.

The funds we receive provide support to at-risk horses, horse owners, and the community, helping us fulfill our mission to bring horses and people together by caring for and rehoming in-transition horses while providing therapy, education, and opportunity to our communities. We are always looking for proactive and mission-driven fundraisers with an established track record of increasing philanthropic support.

Job Summary/ Development Specialist:

Responsible for coordinating the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals. Researches grant opportunities that match the goals and objectives of Faith N Friends. Gathers information and coordinates/writes grant proposals to government, corporation, and foundation funds. Develops and maintains effective, long-term relationships with grantors to facilitate approvals of grants. Follows up with grantors to determine/monitor grant status.

Responsibilities:

Identifies, pursues, cultivates, and enhances relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs.

2. Researches, develops and writes proposals to secure grants from foundations including the United Way and other grant-making organizations.

3. Collaborates with Faith N Friends to determine needs and identify fundable projects fitting organizational strategies.

4. Coordinates and complies with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.

5. Conducts initial review of planned proposals and submission guidelines to determine feasibility; suggests positioning.

6. Assists with other fundraising projects as assigned.

Experience:

Experience working for a nonprofit organization or in public relations, marketing, sales, communication or project management. Corporate fundraising or workplace giving experience preferred.

Experience working with community foundations is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Microsoft Office, Donor Management System (like Raiser's Edge or Team Approach) is highly preferred.

Other:
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail and data management.
