Needs From: Volunteer East Tennessee

Join us at Vine Middle School on April 22nd from 4pm-6pm! We will be beautifying and cleaning up around the school through our SchoolScapes program. Thank you to the Knox County Community Gardens & Growers Alliance for their partnership with this project!  

Some of the volunteer tasks may include: planting, weeding, supplies organization, and litter cleanup.  

Keep Knoxville Beautiful will provide all of the needed equipment.   

We highly recommend wearing long pants and all volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes for the event. Make sure to bring some water.

The tenth annual South Knoxville Community Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 from 9am-12pm! The event base will be at Chapman Square, located at 4409 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.   

We will be removing litter from South Knoxville roads, creeks, and parks. Participants of any age are welcome! We look forward to seeing those who live, work, or play in South Knoxville - as well as anyone who wants to lend a helping hand. Thank you to Ijams Nature Center for partnering with us for an invasive species removal!

There are four volunteer options.

Groups: Perfect for businesses, neighborhoods, and student groups! Groups will be assigned/can request an area of South Knoxville that they will clean up. Please only sign up as a group if you are wishing to lead your group in your own cleanup area. Minimum 5 volunteers to sign up as a group. Maximum 40 volunteers per group.

Individuals:

 - Litter Cleanup at Chapman Square

 - Creek Cleanup at Goose Creek at Mary Vestal Park

 - Invasive Removal with Ijams Nature Center at Community Unity Park in Montgomery Village 

Keep Knoxville Beautiful will provide the following equipment:

 - Litter Pickers

 - Gloves

 - Safety Vests

 - Trash Bags 

We highly recommend wearing long pants, and all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes for the event. Please bring your own sunscreen, bug protection, and water.   

The SKCC is rain or shine, but in the case of severe weather, the rain date is Sunday, April 19th.   

Sign ups close on Sunday, April 12th at 11:59 PM.
