ReLAUNCH needs donations for our shelter on N. Broadway and I-40. We need paper/styrofoam plates, paper/styrofoam cups, plastic spoons or plastic sporks, coffee, powdered creamer, toilet paper, paper towels, cold weather clothes (coats, parkas, hats, gloves, socks), disposable nitrile gloves, cleaning supplies and disinfectant wipes.

Choose a day that's right for you to come by and drop off any supplies to help our homeless friends!

MEDIC Regional Blood Center is currently seeking volunteers to assist in scheduling appointments with whole blood donors. Volunteers will use MEDIC office phones and will be asked to make several calls per shift. 

All volunteers must undergo a criminal background check, no exceptions. MEDIC staff will send the background check link to your email address within 48 hours of your registration to volunteer. 

Volunteers will also need to sign waivers during their first shift. Volunteers will be given a volunteer ID badge to wear while they work at the center. 

Schedulers will work at our Ailor Center at 1601 Ailor Avenue. Volunteers must adhere to MEDIC policies, including those for smoke-free and fragrance-free environments. 

Volunteers will be given a script and a call list using our donor platform. 

Volunteers who do not show up for their registered volunteer slot without notice forfeit all remaining slots the volunteer has signed up for. If a volunteer is unable to attend their shift for any reason, please email volunteer@medicblood.org. If a volunteer is kicked from their slots due to a no-show and is still interested in volunteering, please reach out to volunteer@medicblood.org to be approved.

 This is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to serve close to home- in their own community. Our truck and staff will arrive with food and volunteers will work together to assist in the distribution of the food items to those in need. The Vine Volunteer Collective is looking for helping hands to make our Family Conversation + Catered Dinner a warm, smooth, community-centered evening!

Volunteers will help us serve dinner, support cleanup, and assist staff with supervising the gym while caregivers participate in small-group conversations. Your time helps create a welcoming space where families can eat together, share ideas, and help shape the future of Vine Middle.

WHEN: Tuesday, January 13th, 2026

WHERE: Vine Middle Magnet School 1807 Martin Luther King Jr Ave, Knoxville, TN 37915.

WHAT: Families will join us for a relaxed, small-group meal and discussion using a simple Stop–Start–Keep format. While caregivers participate in conversations, students can enjoy open gym and games (as long as their caregiver is attending the event). Translators will be on site. Volunteers help us keep everything running smoothly so families can focus on connection.

VOLUNTEER ROLES: (5:30 – 8:00 PM)

Volunteers will rotate or support as needed across three key areas:

1. Dinner Support Help set up the serving line, hand out plates and meals, keep food stocked, engage families with warmth, and assist with light cleanup after dinner.

2. Gym Supervision Support Help staff oversee open gym and games for students during the family conversations. This includes helping maintain safe play, positive interactions, and a calm environment.

3. End-of-Night Clean-Up Assist with gathering trash, wiping tables, resetting the cafeteria and gym spaces, and helping restore the building to its regular setup.

A small team of committed volunteers makes a big impact—your support turns a simple dinner into a true community moment.

Ujima is building relationships and introducing the game of soccer to 5th graders at Sarah Moore Greene each Friday. Recess runs from 12:15 - 12:35 unless it is raining. Training focuses on our core values of teamwork, respect, discipline and leadership, and a structured play time that gets everyone involved. Students go directly from recess to their lunch time where Ujima coaches are welcome to hang out and talk until 1:05 pm.  Volunteers must submit to a personal interview and a background check.

Ujima is building relationships and introducing the game of soccer to 5th graders at Spring Hill Elementary each Friday. Recess runs from 1:20 to 2:00 pm unless it is raining. Training focuses on our core values of teamwork, respect, discipline and leadership, and a structured play time that gets everyone involved.  Volunteers must submit to a personal interview and a background check.

GRINCH HEART CRAFT VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION 

Grinch Heart Craft volunteers at Muse Knoxville help with our How The Grinch Stole Christmas storytime, activity stations, and Grinch Heart craft session. This volunteer is managed by the Vice President of Operations and the Guest Experience team. Any questions or concerns regarding scheduled shifts, hours verification, etc. will be directed to Shelby Cornell at shelby@themuseknoxville.org.

The annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count helps Knoxville-Knox County understand how many people are experiencing homelessness on a single night, including individuals staying outdoors or in places not meant for human habitation. Your participation ensures every person has the chance to be included in the count.

This volunteer role supports the direct outreach survey, which takes place over several days so that teams can cover as much of the county as possible. Volunteers will always be paired with an experienced outreach team lead who handles planning, supports safety, and serves as your point of contact throughout the shift.

Walk outdoors with your team lead to known or likely locations where unsheltered neighbors may be staying.

Offer the survey, share provided incentives, and help ensure each person has the opportunity to be counted.

Follow your team lead’s guidance for safety, transportation, and approach.

All volunteers must complete one online training session, available on multiple dates mid-December through mid-January. Training covers safety, survey administration, and expectations for the day.

This fall, Ujima is offering after school training on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. After-school sessions include team building and group mentoring activities, basic soccer instruction, and structured play time. Volunteers are needed (both days or either day) to build relationships, assist in training, and supervise play time. Volunteers must agree to a personal interview and a background check. 

The Vine Volunteer Collective is looking for a few volunteers to help make our home basketball games a success this season! Come be part of the fun, high-energy atmosphere at Vine Middle Magnet School as we cheer on our student athletes. We’re looking for 3–4 volunteers per game to help run our concession stand — serving snacks, drinks, and plenty of school spirit!

Join park staff in the battle against invasive plant species at Seven Islands State Birding Park. We'll be cutting and removing invasive plant species, including privet, honeysuckle, wintercreeper, and multiflora rose. Some cutting tools and work gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own cutting tools if they have some, such as pruning shears, loppers, and hand saws. Volunteers should bring bottled water to drink while working.

On the last day before our Winter Break, Maynard Elementary School will be hosting a fun day full of crafts, play, and Santa! We are in need of a few volunteers to help facilitate games, cookie decorating, and crafts with students.

Volunteers will be accompanied by KCS staff and will simply be there to provide extra adult supervision/support. Casual dress code - as long as appropriate to be around students.

We need regular help in the library restocking shelves, organizing shelves, and rescanning books in. We also need assistance with daily dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and book repair. We are looking to organize our new Enginarium and labeling locations (think well organized Garage Tools). We will need assistance decorating bulletin boards and designing logos and promotional items. Something I am also interested in is getting some drone footage of our school, some shots of the school from cool angles, and maybe even highlighting our outdoor learning space!

December 18th and 19th to collapse the book fair and reset the room for the break! This is the time deep cleaning is happening as well.  We will be doing shelf wipe downs, shelf restocks and have our final push of library weeding (moving boxes of retiring books). Those days will be beneficial and great for a One-Time service in the library.

Help student in the Thrive program shop for Christmas gifts in the Lonsdale Community! You will be paired with students and walk with them through our Christmas Store to use their "Thrive Bucks" to shop for Christmas gifts for their family.

We have various opportunities, including community packing events where we assemble school supplies and food boxes prior to the event, as well as assisting on the day of the event by distributing materials to students and their families.

On Saturday, December 13  from 11 AM – 2 PM, we will host a Pre-Packing Party at First United Methodist Church, 2011 Branner Ave, Jefferson City, TN 37760.  Join us as we pre-pack school supplies and materials to prepare for the event.

The event will take place at Cherokee Country Club at 5138 Lyons View Pike at 6:30pm on Thursday, December 11. It is a fun opportunity to meet and mingle with board members, staff, and supporters of the school. We need assistance with the check-out procedure. You would help guests as they are checking out and paying for their silent auction items by locating the items for them. You would also be invited to enjoy the evening along with the other guests.

Set-Up Crew (3:00 – 5:00 PM): Help arrange tables and chairs, set up exhibits, and assist partners in preparing their spaces. (4–5 volunteers)

Student Meal Support (4:00 – 5:00 PM): Supervise the cafeteria during the student dinner, help with trash, and support staff as needed. (3 volunteers)

Event Support (5:00 – 8:00 PM): Guide guests, answer questions, and help supervise the gym area or other event spaces. (2 volunteers)

Tear Down & Clean-Up (8:00 – 8:45 PM): Help take down tables, clean classrooms, cafeteria, and gym spaces. Must be able to lift and move tables. (4 volunteers)

MEDIC Regional Blood Center is recruiting volunteer drivers to pick up blood coolers from blood drives and centers.

All volunteers must undergo a background check, and drivers must complete a 2-hour orientation on blood-borne pathogens and the process for picking up and delivering units and completing necessary paperwork.

Volunteer drivers must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Drivers must be 21.

Our main center and laboratories are at 1601 Ailor Avenue, and all products will be taken to this location.

Shifts will start and finish at the Ailor Avenue Center.

Communities are hungry for books! Help Little Free Library fulfill its mission of book access for everyone by coordinating a local book drive. You can lead a book drive and distributed the collected books to local Little Free Libraries. Little Free Library staff can answer your questions along the way. 

This is a flexible volunteer opportunity. You can coordinate your book drive during the times that work best for you and your community. Volunteers over 18 anywhere in the U.S. where there are Little Free Libraries can register for this opportunity.

How to get started: Register on our website. If it's your first time volunteering with Team LFL, you will be asked to create an account in our volunteer hub. After you register, we will send you a guide about how to coordinate a book drive. Then, staff will check in with you by email to offer support for your book drive planning.

Purpose: By keeping Little Free Libraries filled with books, you are helping to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access. 

Responsibilities:

Time Required: A typical book drive lasts about two weeks to one month, plus time beforehand to plan and promote the drive. 

Training & Resources Available: We will help you get to know our organization and share our tips for planning a successful book drive.

Benefits: Experience the satisfaction of getting more books into the hands of readers while connecting with your community. Volunteers in the US will get a free Little Free Library t-shirt after you record your impact in the Team LFL online hub.

Our volunteers work out of our Maryville warehouse in the Product Recovery area or our Repack Clean Room where we process donated and bulk food for distribution, to help feed our East Tennessee neighbors.

Keep Knoxville Beautiful will be having our January Saturday Spruce Up on January 24th from 10am-12pm. We will be removing litter from the area around East Town Crossing Shopping Center in Northeast Knoxville.

Nourish Knoxville is looking for volunteers for our Saturday Winter Farmers Market. Volunteers may assist with setting up and breaking down the market information booth, conducting crowd counts, operating our Nourish Kids educational programming, and/or helping process transactions for Market Money (Nourish Knoxville's ATM system) - Double Up Food Bucks (SNAP doubling program) - and SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps).

Calling all Wrappers! Our 12th annual gift-wrapping fundraiser is fast approaching!

Do you like to wrap presents? Or just love the holiday spirit? We are looking for you! We have spots for all experience levels - from helper to expert - for our holiday fundraising event. We wrap for donations to support H.A.L.T. - Humans and Animals Learning Together, a local non-profit that benefits shelter dogs and at-risk youth. Our organization is powered solely by volunteers.

This annual event is held at Mast General Store on Gay Street the weekend of December 19th-21st during store hours. 

Shifts are 3-3.5 hours, depending on the store's busy times, and there are 2-4 people per shift. During each shift, a H.A.L.T. representative will be there to talk with people about our program. 

Mast General provides boxes, and H.A.L.T. provides the wrapping supplies. Unable to wrap? Donations of supplies are also welcome.

Special Olympics Tennessee Fitness Program is a wellness initiative focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults (ages 13+) with intellectual disabilities. Through goal-setting and measurable outcomes, we aim to empower athletes to take control of their health and reduce the disparities often faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities.

One of our key programs, Train 4 Life, is a 12-week fitness, nutrition, and wellness series. Each session lasts 60 minutes and is designed to help athletes build healthy habits in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Train 4 Life Volunteer Info:

Volunteers assist head coaches and athletes during weekly workouts. You can sign up for any individual sessions you’re available to attend.

Join park staff in the battle against invasive plant species at Seven Islands State Birding Park. We'll be cutting and removing invasive plant species, including privet, honeysuckle, wintercreeper, and multiflora rose. Some cutting tools and work gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own cutting tools if they have some, such as pruning shears, loppers, and hand saws. Volunteers should bring bottled water to drink while working.

Resilience Wellness Association is a 501(c)(3) that I started in 2022 to provide access to mental health services such as therapy and counseling. We are in need of several drivers to help us with the pick up of regular food donations from a local grocery store. These donations must be picked up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays by 11 a.m. We just don't have the staff to cover this all the time so are hoping that some wonderful volunteers can help!

- We'll provide a vehicle that can be used for pick-up.

While the holidays are considered a time to come together, many homebound and socially isolated older adults are unable to gather with loved ones to celebrate the season. Each year, Mobile Meals volunteers dedicate their Christmas morning to delivering nutritious meals and warm holiday greetings to homebound seniors across Knox County. In addition to a meal, each senior receives a holiday gift bag generously donated by you and other friends in the community. For many, this may be their only visitor that day.

**Mobile Meals delivers meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, but help is needed all holiday season**

Mobile Meals delivers to over 1,000 homebound seniors daily Monday – Friday to every zip code in Knox County. Volunteers deliver a hot lunchtime meal that, along with the daily safety check, helps to keep individuals safe and healthy longer in their own home, where they want to be. We need over 100 volunteers deliver meals each weekday. Volunteers are always needed to help with this much needed service.

Deliveries take place 10am - 1pm, Monday-Friday. Volunteers can schedule a route to be assigned on a regular basis, can volunteer seasonally (during holiday times, during any school breaks, etc.);or can give us a list of dates or just reach out when available. Kids are welcome to come along and Students will earn 4 hours per delivery and are welcome to bring someone along with them.

Non-profit organizations like The Salvation Army usually have small staff that are extremely busy. Sometimes the little chores around the building fall aside while we are busy serving the needs of the people who need our help.

Help cancer patients in your community get to life-saving medical appointments.

Road To Recovery drivers use their personal vehicle to help cancer patients with limited or no transportation get to treatments.

You choose the rides that work with your schedule. Rides are weekdays. 

Volunteer drivers are ages 18-84 and

Interested volunteers complete online training, provide proof of insurance, and pass a background check. Volunteers review available rides via an online scheduling tool.

VOLUNTEER ASSISTED TRANSPORTATION NEEDS VOLUNTEER DRIVERS!!  We are experiencing a shortage of volunteers this Fall/Winter. If you enjoy helping others, please consider this volunteer opportunity.

 Knoxville-Knox County CAC’s (Community Action Committee) Volunteer Assisted Transportation (VAT) program is seeking volunteer drivers to assist seniors and people with disabilities to medical appointments, shopping trips, beauty appointments, and other fun activities!

During the fall and winter months our regular scheduled volunteers are not available due to travelling and vacations. We are always seeking volunteers, and this is a time that we will need more volunteers to cover our needs. We provide the vehicle to use and supply the gas. You just pick and choose how often you want to volunteer. 

We are celebrating 16 years of serving the community and what a way to help someone, by getting them to the grocery store to access fresh food and also making sure they get to much needed medical appointments. We even can provide social trips to the senior center or the beauty salon.

Volunteers are provided with the following:

Volunteers are needed for weekdays, evenings and weekends. Drivers must be 21 years of age and have at least 3 years of driving experience. 

Our transportation is not based on business hours; a ride is provided when a volunteer is available.

We are seeking volunteer drivers to transport Knox County seniors and people with disabilities. Help a senior with door-through-door transportation assistance to the grocery store, medical appointments, and other fun activities. Volunteers use program vehicles (and gas!) to assist people who might otherwise not be able to leave their homes. 

Stay with the client, support and help them at destinations and back to their residence.

Little Chefs, Big Change is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Cooking Class Volunteers to join our mission-driven team. As a Cooking Class Volunteer, you will work directly with the Lead Cooking Instructor, other volunteers, and students, helping us bring the joy of healthy cooking to after-school programs. Newport Christmas Parade – Volunteer with Us! 

The Cocke County Partnership is proud to host the 2025 Newport Christmas Parade on Friday, December 5th, starting at 6:30 p.m.! This beloved hometown tradition draws more than 10,000 spectators to Downtown Newport each year for a magical evening filled with lighted floats, marching bands, tractors, horses, and of course—Santa Claus!

The parade kicks off at Debbie’s Drive-In and travels through the heart of downtown before wrapping up at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. You’ll see floats beautifully decorated by local businesses, schools, and community groups—all spreading that small-town Christmas cheer we love so much.

We need your help to make it happen! 
Volunteers are a huge part of what makes this event successful. We’re looking for friendly helpers to:

Assist with float line-up and staging

Help keep the parade route organized and moving

Serve as judges for entries

And more behind-the-scenes roles that make the magic happen!

The Vine Volunteer Collective is looking for Spanish and Swahili-speaking volunteers to support Family Engagement events at Vine Middle School throughout the school year. We are building a network of volunteers who can be called upon to assist with language support as needed—there’s no expectation to be at every event, just those you have capacity for! Your help will play a vital role in strengthening connections and improving communication with our multilingual families during after-school events. Volunteers needed to greet folks coming for food (groceries) assistance, assist with setting up food displays, and helping our guests select food items. Any amount of time between 9am-1pm is good This pantry provides food to about 250 families each day.

This is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to serve close to home- in their own community. Our truck and staff will arrive with food and volunteers will work together to assist in the distribution of the food items to those in need. Volunteers must be able to stand for the duration of shift, as well as lift, bend and carry boxes to vehicles.

This food distribution is outdoors, please plan to dress according to the weather.
