Our Values
Community
We work with local organizations and volunteers to serve, inspire, and collaborate to increase food security in Knoxville. Just as plants are rooted in soil, we are grounded in the relationships we have with our neighbors.
Social Justice
We believe everyone deserves access to fresh produce. We acknowledge systems of privilege, oppression, and racism and work to alleviate the disparities they’ve caused in our local food system. We help to even out access to land, plants, seeds, food, resources, tools, and education to create equity in our food system
Environmental Stewardship
We recognize we are not separate, but intertwined with nature and we commit to regenerative practices to mitigate the impact of climate change.
Health
We use gardens to cultivate physical, emotional and social well-being.
Creativity
We make space to honor the skills and talents of many.
Food Sovereignty
We support everyone’s right to eat, grow, and access culturally appropriate food.
Growth
We offer opportunities for learners of all ages and experience levels and seek to continually expand our own knowledge.
