United Way of Greater Knoxville through the Community Schools initiative is connecting with neighborhoods and families through schools to ensure that no matter where a family lives in Knoxville-Knox County they have access to the resources they need.
The Community School initiative transforms a school into a place where educators, local community members, families, and students work together to strengthen conditions for student learning and healthy development. As partners, we organize school resources, supports, and opportunities so that young people thrive. Using public schools as hubs, Community Schools bring together many partners to offer a range of supports and opportunities to children, youth, families, and communities.
