SMILE Foster Closet

At SMILE, our mission is to support foster families caring for children in foster care, assist kinship and at-risk families working directly with the state by providing for children as they transition into homes. We fulfill our mission by fulfilling immediate needs with the help of donations, both monetary and physical items, given by our local community. SMILE uses direct, practical, and impactful kindness to provide for the foster care community throughout Northeast Tennessee.

SMILE Foster Closet is a nonprofit organization focused on the needs of foster children, as well as foster families, kinship, and at-risk families. We are dedicated to supporting foster families that care for children who might otherwise not be able to get their basic necessities. Our team of loving, compassionate volunteers step in to help provide essentials, allowing foster families to focus on what matters most – loving kids and helping put smiles on faces. Sometimes needs cannot always be met by the State. This is where SMILE Foster Closet steps in by putting donated dollars to work providing essentials that help children and foster families adapt to living together. Any child within the 8 counties of the Northeast Tennessee district that is entering state care is eligible to receive our services. Participation is easy, and simply requires completion of the SMILE Foster Closet Request Form, which is available online at smilefostercloset.org.
