Expanding minds and hearts through the pure joy of reading!

For the Love of Reading exists to expand the minds and hearts of students in Knox County Schools through the pure joy of reading. We provide a “book store experience” twice a year for children in grades Pre-K through 5th, where they can choose from a wide variety of fantastic titles. We aim to provide books that act as mirrors and windows, in which children can see themselves represented and understand that their stories are valued. In addition, volunteer readers bring enthusiasm to classrooms every week. By providing these resources, we hope to help close the achievement disparities and bring the power of good books to our underserved Knoxville communities!
