Our Mission
Our mission is to empower young adults, transitioning from foster care or
homelessness, to break the cycle of poverty and realize their full potential as
valued members of society. We work to remove barriers by providing
comprehensive support, guidance, and resources, facilitating their journey
toward sustainable success and community engagement. While we are
rooted in Christian principles of love, compassion, and service, we warmly
welcome individuals of all beliefs and backgrounds.
About Us
In October 2023, First Foundations was created to fill a gap in Knoxville. We serve 18-24
year olds who have aged out of foster care or are coming out of homelessness for a
different reason. We work through a few different agencies that help them secure
apartments. It is then that First Foundations steps in to provide:
• Furniture and Housewares
• Financial Counseling
• Mom Mentorship
• Life Skills Training
• Assistance Accessing Mental Health Services
