Volunteer Opportunity: Small Event Planner & NAMIWALKS Support Chair
Are you passionate about mental health advocacy and skilled at organizing events? NAMI Knoxville is looking for a Small Event Support Volunteer & NAMIWALKS Support Volunteer to help us coordinate impactful events that support our mission to educate, advocate, and bring hope to those affected by mental illness.
Responsibilities:
Small Event Planner
•Plan and coordinate small-scale fundraising and community engagement events.
•Secure venues, vendors, and entertainment as needed.
•Work with NAMI Knoxville leadership to ensure events align with our mission.
•Assist with promotion and outreach to increase attendance and engagement.
•Manage event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and volunteer coordination.
NAMIWALKS Support Chair
•Assist in organizing NAMIWALKS Knoxville, our biggest annual fundraising and awareness event.
•Recruit and engage local businesses, community groups, and teams to participate.
•Help plan walk-day logistics, including check-in, entertainment, and activities.
•Coordinate volunteers and ensure a smooth event experience.
•Work alongside our event committee to maximize impact and fundraising efforts.
Ideal Volunteer:
•Experience or interest in event planning, community engagement, or fundraising.
•Strong organizational and communication skills.
•Passion for mental health advocacy and NAMI Knoxville’s mission.
•Ability to work collaboratively and independently on event logistics.
•Availability for planning meetings and events throughout the year.
