Statehood Day 2025

Description

Join us in celebrating Tennessee’s founding with a day of community, history, and hands-on fun at Marble Springs State Historic Site! Our annual Statehood Day Festival welcomes hundreds of guests for music, crafts, heritage games, traditional food, and educational programming. Volunteers are key to making the day smooth, welcoming, and meaningful for all.

We’re seeking friendly, helpful volunteers to assist with guest welcome, family activities, the Cornbread Cook-Off, and general event support. Whether you're helping kids with crafts or guiding folks to the right tent, you’ll be part of a warm, history-loving team that helps bring the festival to life.

Volunteer Roles Include:

  • Event Set-Up: Assist with various tasks to get the site ready for event

  • Welcome Table: Greet visitors, hand out event info, answer questions

  • Game/Activity Table: Help with hands-on crafts and games in the cabin yard

  • Cornbread Cook-Off Support: Assist with entry check-in, judging coordination, and awards

  • Event Floaters: Step in where needed and offer breaks to other volunteers

What to Expect:

  • You’ll be outdoors and on your feet, with access to shade and water

  • A short orientation will be provided before your shift

  • Volunteers must be age 14+ (under 16 with an adult)

  • Period-appropriate or outdoor-appropriate clothing is encouraged (nothing fancy—just comfortable and weather-ready)

No historical knowledge is required—just a friendly attitude and a willingness to pitch in. Help us make this day special for our guests and community!
