Become a Rope Volunteer for Rappelling for the Rivers fundraiser - Saturday, Aug. 2
what is this event?
This is the first major fundraising event for Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful, and it’s just as innovative as the work we get to do on our waterways! We’ve teamed up with Over the Edge, the world’s leading urban rappelling company who has hosted over 1,000 events to help nonprofits raise over $150 million to date. We’re so excited to partner with The Park Vista, a Doubletree by Hilton Hotel who has agreed to allow participants to descend down the side of their 200-foot building that resides 1,000 feet above Gatlinburg, Tenn. with up-close views of the Great Smoky Mountains.
VOLUNTEER
We’re on the hunt for a dozen volunteers who will be able to help man the ropes at our Rappelling for the Rivers fundraiser. No prior experience is required as you will receive all of the training you need from the Over the Edge team. Here’s what rope volunteers can expect:
- Must be 18 years old
- We need you for an all day event (8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2)!
- Lunch and refreshments will be provided
- Rope volunteers will have the opportunity to rappel for free!
