Time commitment medium-large, depending on how many events coordinator has to attend and how quickly dogs are adopted.
- Schedule with locations around the area on weekends (Sat. or Sun.) throughout each session (4 weeks in the fall and 4 weeks in the spring) and until dogs are adopted or other opportunities present.
- Arrange for volunteers. There is a need for one volunteer per dog, plus an additional volunteer to provide an extra set of hands.
- Organize transportation to and from Pet Resorts or whatever the dogs' location might be for each event. You usually need two cars (at least) to transport the dogs in crates and the supplies. Depending on the dog, you might be able to pull off one dog buckled into a back seat. Designate a point person who uses check out/check in link when the dogs are picked up.
- Once at location, find out from management where they want you to hang out and set up the table. Put adopt me harnesses on dogs and fill water bowl. Write upcoming events on dry-erase section of board.
- Talk to people who stop by about the dogs and the HALT program. Direct them to website, if they'd like more information or want to put in an application.
- Check the dogs back into Pet Resorts or Ideal.
