Warehouse Product Recovery: July 2026

Description

Our volunteers work out of our Maryville warehouse in the Product Recovery area or our Repack Clean Room where we process donated and bulk food for distribution, to help feed our East Tennessee neighbors.

Volunteers also help in non-food project support roles such as cleaning, letter stuffing, and miscellaneous admin duties.

No experience necessary! Training will be provided on-site at the beginning of the shift.

*Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age, and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
** Please note, for groups that have minors ages 10-15 among the participants, we require a 1:5 chaperone to minor ratio. Please ensure that your group size matches this ratio with adult chaperones (18+) and minors.

Please park in the rear parking lot through the metal gate as parking in the front is limited. Volunteers enter through the double glass doors by the rear lot into our volunteer lobby.

Please know you will be working in a warehouse environment and the following rules concerning dress must be followed:

  • While casual attire is welcome; jeans, shorts, t-shirts, etc., attire must be appropriate for a family environment.
  • Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring layers when temperatures outside are colder, as the warehouse is not heated. When temperatures become hot, we kindly suggest shorts be as long as your fingertips when your arms are resting at your side. To prevent product contamination, all summer attire must be in good repair: no rips or frays, avoid tank tops, spaghetti straps, or shirts with loose strings or ties.
  • Open toed shoes, crop tops, and spandex are prohibited.
  • You may be required to wear a mask, gloves, and hairnet depending on your work project. ALL hair must fit into hairnet - bring a hair band if you have long hair.
  • Jewelry should be limited to rings only. Earrings and watches may need to be removed.
  • Please do not bring personal items like bags and backpacks into the warehouse. Phones should never be set down on counters or pallets. Please keep phones in pockets while working in the warehouse.

Additionally, please consider maximizing your impact while volunteering: bring can goods with you to donate, engage with us on social media, or make a gift online.
