Zoo Knoxville’s Boo! @ the Zoo 2020 event is accepting volunteers!
Important details:
- Event dates are October 8-11, 15-18, and 22-25
- Volunteer shifts are from 4:00 to 9:00. We do not offer partial shifts
- You must be age 16 or older, no exceptions
- You may wear you own costume. Costumes must be child-friendly, G-rated
- To serve with a friend, you must arrive and check in together
NEW –
We understand and share your concern about COVID-19. This year’s event will be organized to provide maximum safety for staff, volunteers, guests, and animals. This will include a couple new details, including:
- The zoo will not provide costumes this year
- Volunteers will be given a staggered arrival time (4:00pm, 4:15pm, 4:30pm, or 4:45pm)
- Temperature and symptom checks upon arrival for all volunteers
- Volunteers will be required to bring and wear a mask for the duration of the event. The zoo will not provide masks. We will provide gloves for stations that are distributing food.
- Volunteers will be offered a break, HOWEVER we will not provide snacks or a communal space to congregate. Volunteers may bring food into the park and may take a break near their area of service.
