Monroe County Animal Shelter is currently experiencing a large influx of strays resulting
in an overcrowding situation that is causing them to consider what it means to make space, including euthanasia.
MCFA has worked diligently for years to help save lives by getting animals new homes as quickly
as possible. This has been accomplished by lowering intake numbers through our free voucher SNAP
program, foster care, and education for the public.
Please spread the word to your friends about adoptions and volunteering to become a foster parent.
Fostering is ideal for animal lovers who are:
- Seniors and others not wanting the lifelong commitment that comes with pet adoption
- Families—fostering is a great way to teach kids about responsible pet ownership.
- Anyone who is looking for a way to truly make a difference in an animal’s life
