Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency

Our Mission

Engage the Knox County Community in disaster preparedness and response.

About Us

Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency serves as the central point of coordination for local government efforts to prepare for and respond to large-scale emergencies and disasters. The Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) is a shared City and County department responsible to the Mayors of the City of Knoxville and Knox County.

In partnership with Volunteer East Tennessee, KEMA uses this platform to engage community members in preparedness training and volunteer response opportunities.
