Knox County Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) August 2026 Session

Calendar Happens On Aug 4, 2026
Time 6:30-9:00 PM

Description

Sign up to attend Community Emergency Response Training August 4 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. In August we will cover the CERT Unit 2: CERT Organization curriculum.  We will also discuss local emergency response systems with 911 and disaster response processes with KEMA.

August training will take place at the Knox Emergency Operations Center (1630 Huron St).

Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) teaches participants about hazards that could affect our community, how to prepare for them and how to help your family, neighbors, or coworkers in the immediate aftermath of an emergency, before responders arrive. CERT is a nationally supported initiative hosted by the Knoxville-Knox County Emergency Management Agency (KEMA) in partnership with local emergency response agencies. The Knox County CERT program is focused on personal preparedness training for disasters and connecting people with local volunteer agencies for response opportunities.

CERT is free to community members and takes place 6:30-9:00 PM the first Tuesday of each month in most cases.
