Come read books aloud to elementary school students in a Knox County School! Commit to reading weekly or biweekly to an elementary class through a school semester. Your involvement is vital for the students and our organization as we instill the joy of reading into the kids of Knox County who need it the most!
We're looking for individuals who are caring, enthusiastic, and positive with elementary-aged children, who can commit to weekly/biweekly reading in a classroom setting, who will work with their teacher's needs and leading, and who have a heart for helping kids!
In tandem with the qualifications, we also require an initial meeting (via phone or Zoom) with the site supervisor, a background check, a 45-minute reader orientation, a KCS orientation with the school's SRC, and a one-time shadowing of a current FTLOR reader.
Please note: This is a reoccurring shift, but the day and hour of your shift is flexible with your own availability, as well as the school, class, and teacher's specifications.
